Victory!

frail pensioner, Jenny Mapson who is 97 years old, had finally had enough when Wychavon District Council told her to use wheelie bins or her rubbish could not be collected, with no space to store the bins outside her tiny two-bedroom terraced home - even if she could move them - Miss Mapson refused to abide by the new regime, Miss Mapson said: 'I said to the council, "Don't you know I'm an old woman of 97 and I live by myself and have difficulty getting in and out of the front door?" 'All he said was, "That's beside the point", and that the council want the bins to stay.' the new regime was introduced on November 22, up until then, Miss Mapson's household waste was collected in bin bags every week, with paper waste collected in purple bags on one week, and a clear bag for plastics and tins collected on the alternate week, Miss Mapson, who is hard of hearing and going blind, enlisted her niece Mandy Boswell to contact the council again on her behalf, Mrs Boswell, an IT consultant, said: 'Nobody should be forced to house these huge bins in their front garden, let alone a frail old lady who lives alone, 'Her treatment has been very bad and I was told on the phone it wasn't the council's problem and we'd just have to get on with it' 'Jenny has put her rubbish out in bin bags for more than 25 years and has had them collected with no issues at all, She is a very keen recycler and has done her best - but this was the last straw for her.' a council spokesman said that following an investigation into her circumstances, Miss Mapson can continue using her bin bags, the council apologised if she felt she had been badly treated, wait a minute, a council spokesman said that "following an investigation into her circumstances," how long did that take? weeks or even months when this poor lady could have no idea of how she could get her rubbish removed, disgraceful, utterly disgraceful non-action by Wychavon District Council.
