I Am A Bit Late With This Post,

for breakfast on Wednesday we called in to Vickan's,

it is almost on the corner of Soi 2 on beach road Jomtien,

it features a mainly Scandinavian menu with Thai food as well,
the trusty Kawasaki parked outside, the view from our table, and looking along the road towards Sattahip,
I have never tried this, being towed behind a speed boat, but Beckenham Steve did many years ago when he was over here,
on to the meal, Diana had sweet and sour pork, I had salmon in a dill sauce, both quite nice but the 40 minute wait was something we could have done with out, the waitress apologised for the delay, the problem was they only had one chef, that apart it was clean and pleasant enough, including a water and a soda 288 baht,
all to soon the day had pasted, so it was off to the soup stall,
although it does not look it, there were only a few stalls there,
this area is normally packed,
one thing I did notice there was this Yamaha, it seems that the latest craze is to deck them in lights, also notice the "solid" front wheel,
and padded seats,
then it was time to go out on the town,
a fairly quite Walking Street,
and I strike the pose! first stop Sisterz, happy hour now from 8 - 10, house drinks only 38 baht, a winner in any ones book! we meet up with Jay and Precil, then over to see Juu in Champions and we were joined by Big Jim, both places had a large crowd in there, but I think numbers of people going to the go-gos are down, which is strange as when I want to come back from the UK next month all of the flights are fully booked, ah well that's life!

Thanks for another great Blog, Stan - keep up the good work!

A 40 minute wait in a Thai eatery is unusual, I think? Although in many aspects of life, Thai's can take their time, i.e. maintainence repairs etc, I've never experienced a meal taking that long to arrive at the table. Hopefully just a one off, and due to the 'resource issue' of only the one chef, as explained by your waitress.

Also interesting to see the latest craze of fixing many headlights onto the Yamaha. If it continues, could have Jontiem beach resembling Brighton beach during the Sixties, with the arrival of the mods! (a bit too warm for wearing a parka though!)

Regards ..

Dear Anonymous, glad you like the blog, I have found that a wait in a restaurant for what is a ready prepared meals is about 10 minuets so 40 was way over the top, but as you say hopefully a "one off" it would not surprise me to see a convoy of these scooters as monthly event or at a scooter rally, they seem to be every where, shades of Quadrophenia! best regards, Stan and Diana.
