Tuesday So Shopping In Soi Bukaow,

we were still on a quest for a belt for Diana, one of the entrances to Soi Bakoaw market, thing was there were lots of belts but all to long, the shop keeper would then say "cut" but it was not as easy as that, the belts did not have a removable clasp, it was stitched in, also the stitching went all along the belt, so where ever the cut was the stitching would unfray, but at last during the course of the morning one was found which did not need to be cut,
as usual at this time of year lots of orchids,
I prefer the ones with a few larger flowers like these above,
but the smaller ones are nice never the less, strange really, in the UK they were not so common, but are making apperances in super markets, but over here as they are native they are every where,
for me these are really nice, as are these,
after having to wait for our change, if you remember the other cafe just kept it! I decided to try this one on the corner opposite the dolphin cafe,
the food stalls outside are all a part of it,
after an exhausting shopping spree the girls and Mark arrived, we had 3 ice coffees, 1 hot tea and 1 water, the bill was 130 baht which I thought fair, then off to Friendship for some milk, coke, etc, for change the voluntary tea money brigade were not there, it was so busy we could not park in the street this time,
for some reason it was packed in Pattaya Tai today,
so often I buy a DVD only to find it does not play, not only in my Toshiba High Definition player but also in my cheap Sharp one, well the Sharp quit, I mentioned this to Mark, who said he had bought a Phillips that plays every thing, so he took a couple of discs that did not play in mine and they did! so off to Lotus for a 1,790 baht Phillips, sure enough they worked perfectly, even a disc that would not play in either of my players or my computer!
this is it and it does what it says on the box, it "Simply plays it all!"
these are two of a few DVD's both of my DVD players had problems with, Lord Of War and All Quite On The Western Front, as an aside the character Nicolas Cage plays in Lord Of War, Yuri Orlov, is loosely based on a real life character, Viktor Anatolyevich Bout,
who was arrested here in Bangkok at the beginning of March 2008, and he is still here this as of 20th. May over a year later, the final verdict about his extradition will be heard in August this year (allegedly!) we watched both films last night and got to bed about 2 in the morning, and I forgot, Diana went to a huge amount of work making the batter for the fish and chips we had, well whilst talking to Mr. Tony he said he and Booie always use this, "Gogi" just add it to water, though for a better flavour Booie adds it to beer, only 13 baht a pack, so next time we have fish and chips we will give it a try, Wednesday already so off to see Tom and Juu tonight!
