First Thing Off To The Post Office In Naklua,

the post man left a card to say we were out, so into the crowded pick up place to sign for the package, there must have been a lot of people not at home that day when the postman called, the car/bike park was packed to capacity, double parking the order of the day, then it happen, the parcel was addresses to Stan and Diana, my passport said Stanley, 'Company papers' 'what for?' company 'Stan and Diana' 'I am Stan the lady there is Diana' 'Company papers Stan and Diana' 'it is not a company it is our names' a few mutered words with another member of staff and all was well, Diana says many thanks for the present Steve and Kai, looking forward to seeing you both soon, whilst looking around the street the post office was in I was amazed at how many shops had closed,
there were more boarded up than open,
on the other side of the road there were three shops selling cane and rattan furniture, now none, but the guy on this side of the road is still here,
sorry Steve and Kai, Diana could not help unwrapping it!
then off to Carrefour,
we meet up with Big Jim, and from The Mercy Center Lhen Lhen, Craig and Cherie,
soon the truck was loaded up, Christmas toys, food and supplies,
Big Jim starts to unload the eggs,
Big Jim and myself,
Lhen Lhen lent a hand as well,
milk cartons for the kids,
Craig and Cherie, two of the helpers at the center
we managed to sneak the toys in without them being seen, Big Jim had bought a spinning top along with him,
you wound it up a few turns with a key, pressed the button at the top after placing it near to the ground and off it went, an immediate success, it spun around, played a tune and had flashing lights,
the kids loved it!
I must say I was pretty impressed myself!
all to soon it was time to go so it was farewell to all of those happy, smiling faces, something new that we did for this year was to start a fund for each child, as they get older there will come a time when some may need funds for collage, university or skills training, so if anyone wishes donations can be made for not only now, the day to day living, but for an investment for the child's future, if you have time please take the trouble to go to the center, and maybe make a donation of time or money, these kids need both so much.
