First Thing Along To The Bank,

where does all the money go? a question I guess a lot of us ask ourselves, for people like myself from the UK 3 or maybe 4 years ago 73 baht to the £1.00 no where like 45 - 46 it is now, it makes me stop and think when I see local vodka and soda in a bar for over £2.60, grief I am sounding like Victor Meldrew!
now on my way home through boys town,
When Mike and Riza called round a couple of days ago I mentioned about connecting my new Blu-Ray player to the Internet, he advised me to buy a splitter and cables for the LAN connection to plug it in to the net, above is the 3BB Internet box I rent which I have had for a couple of months now, so far with sterling service, (fingers crossed, tap on wood, etc), the black cable is mains electric going in, yellow LAN cable going out, grey telephone line going in, this is the switch I bought before, not being one to read manuals I proceeded as I normally do, plug what ever it is in then hit every switch, button and knob I can find till it works, so plug the black lead into the mains, then the yellow LAN lead from the 3BB Internet box, the grey LAN lead went to my computer, the orange LAN to the Toshiba HD player and finally the red LAN to the Blu - Ray player, lots of flashing green lights, so something was happening, I tried the Internet on the computer, all was well there, then I had a look at the television, it worked! well I should say it worked anyway, but now there were things like YouTube, Wired and Epicurious.com on the screen, scrolling down there were many more, for instance clips from over 200 movies similar to that you would see in the cinema, the one Diana wants now to see is Piranha - in 3D!
back to YouTube, Diana liked this song Pyramid, this is what the screen looks like when it is playing,
in the top right hand side the video with the words over the top so that you can sing along, which is about the only down side if some one can not sing! now it may seem like I know what I was doing but thanks to Mike for the prep talk before I bought the splitter, by the way if you have one of these BDP S370's in the UK you can link to the BBC, quote from the web page "BBC iPlayer: Making the unmissable with the last 7 days of BBC TV and radio via your Blu-ray Disc™ Player with no need to connect your TV to your laptop or PC" great piece of kit, I just hope when it goes wrong Sony will honor the guarantee, unlike the brush off I got here when Sony Thailand refuse to cover my 6 months old S200 camera when it failed, "worldwide guarantee not valid Thailand take back England!"
Jay and Precil called round later in the afternoon for a chat and a few cuppa's, after they left we watched a DVD,
Plunkett & Macleane, a very enjoyable movie with some good songs from the Tiger Lillies, not quite my taste in music but when played as background music very atmospheric like this one, the film is about two 'gentleman' highway robbers, well worth watching,
before our night out a smoked salmon salad,
Diana ready for our first night on the town for two weeks,
looking as lovely as ever,
I wondered if there had been any changes since our last visit,
one new bar at least, this is on the left as you walk from Marine Plaza to Walking Street,
new outfits for the Hooties ago - go ladies,
and a new seafood restaurant, so new it has not put a sign up yet,
more hand bags! some down to 500 baht,
we went directly to Champions, it was cold in there, Juu now has all of the air conditioners working, we meet up with Brian and his wife, Doc. Jeff and of course Big Jim, a splendid evening was had by all, then some melon to munch on for when we arrived home, Juu very kindly dropped us off,
some fresh melon by the Jasmine tree, then feet up for one episode of Doc. Martin followed by one Cadfael episode, The Virgin in the Ice, a young nun is found violated and murdered, while the brother and sister she was escorting have disappeared, murder most foul, then time for bed.
