We Had A Lazy Day,

the good news was that two friends called round, but first a game of Monopoly, for once I managed to get into the property market quicker than Diana,
Mark called round for a couple of hours, then Jay called in, many cups of tea later and it was feet up to watch a few DVD's,
a great comedy for both of us, Ice Age: The Meltdown, I must admit we would both like to see all of the Ice Age movies in 3D, but in any event they are so funny, especially the 'extra' short animation of Scrat that is on the DVD, in case you have not seen it he finds a time machine to help his quest for the perfect acorn, hugely funny,
this one a favorite of mine, though I think much underrated, Pirates, I had to buy this original of it in of all places Greece, but well worth the effort, a great shame to see it is not more widely viewed,
another one full of laughs, surprises and special effects, Mars Attacks! it is a normal day for everyone, until the President of the United States announces Martians have been spotted circling Earth, the Martians land and a meeting is arranged, but not everything goes to plan, in fact most things that happen are decidedly unplanned! as an aside there is a nice minimalist aquarium in a couple of scenes,
to round the evening off we watched a few from MI5, Episode #2.6, Without Incident, the American president's unexpected visit to London forces the MI5 and CIA teams to work together, Harry suspects that there is more to the surprise visit of the American President than the Americans admit to, he is correct,
Episode #2.7, Cleanskin, raises a few questions, such as is it correct to use a 14 year thief to break into building or not? and once inside give him no plans for an escape? followed by Episode #2.8, Strike Force, due to a rail strike, the transportation of a load of nuclear waste has to be done by road, MI5 receives evidence that a discontented army officer is planning to lead the armed services in a mutiny, but are two events connected? another slight problem that happened today was that the CD/DVD burner decided to go on strike, also a external hard drive I use to back up all of my pictures decided it too would join the burner in a show of solidarity, so the computer repair engineer will be with us tomorrow, then for us off to bed.
