We Had A Quiet Day,

but in the afternoon Juu called so we popped over to see him,
the fish in his pond had grown even larger, the white ones here are about 2 feet long,
then one of the pools larger fish swam into view, the bright spot on the right of the picture is one of it's eyes reflecting the flash from the camera, the red and black lines are coloration to the scales on the back half of the fish,

the scales like the fish are large,

we managed to miss the showers on our way home, Juu very kindly made lots of snacks for us over the evening, normally we would have meet him in his bar, but for today and Sunday all bars are closed and restaurants are also banned from selling alcohol, last weekend was the same as there are national elections taking place, so home feet up and watch some DVD's,
in ¡Three Amigos! three unemployed actors accept an invitation to a Mexican village to replay their bandit fighter roles, unaware that it is the real thing until the bandits use real bullets instead of blanks, so funny in places especially the dessert sing-song,
the Matrix Reloaded is the second in the trilogy, 6 months after the events depicted in The Matrix, Neo has proved to be a good omen for the free humans, but is he good enough? the special effects even better than the first in this series,
one more from MI5, episode #4.5, when a retired senior member of the Security Service, Clive McTaggart, is found dead in his home, it's put down to suicide, like a few others in this series, it almost follows a true story, in real life the death of Dr. David Kelly who was found dead, the Kelly affair had been a disaster for long gone Blair, sending his trust ratings down, reviving his government's reputation for "spin," and keeping attention on the failure to find the banned Iraqi weapons which London had given as its main reason for war, but for us it was then time for bed.

Hi Stan,

As you say, no alcohol sold over the weekend in Pattaya. I can understand this with the Thai nationals, but not sure why this should affect fareng?

Fareng can not vote in the Thai elections anyway?

Sounds like I can't function without booze for a weekend!, but in all seriousness a lot of fareng are on vacation at the moment and Pattaya is a party city.

Anyway, congratulations on a great blog.

Dear Mocha Joe, it is indeed a blanket ban on the sale of alcohol, no one can buy booze on the day before and the day of the election, with no exceptions, the same applies on Buddha days and other special days of the year, not much of a problem, but it has hit hotel, restaurant and bar owners this and last weekend with it being low season, the fact is falangs and tourists even though they can not vote are guests in Thailand and have to obey the laws of the land. Glad you like the blog, I try to make it interesting, now on to today’s, best regards, Stan and Diana.
