I Now Know What The Name Of This Flower Is,

for years I have tried to find it,

then Chris and family from sunny Brighton put me out of my misery, it is a Heliconia, they are close relatives of gingers, bananas, birds-of-paradise and traveler's palms, there are approximately 350 species making up the single genus, with the bulk of them originating from Central and South America, also the good news is that they can be grown from seed in the UK if you have a greenhouse, many thanks Chris and family!
