First Thing And We Were Off To The Clinic,

this is one of the many advantages of living out here,

if you have a problem, no doctors appointments next for next week, no waiting in out patients to have a dressing changed, just walk in and be seen immediately,

Steve's road rash is healing up nicely,

but the iodine really stings!

next stop I had to drop off another present for Diana I had bought yesterday to be wrapped,

the fish in the aquarium looking good,

including Nemo!

for breakfast we made the move to the Surf Kitchen on Jomtien Beach Road,

two cool coconuts made into a slushy for Steve and Kai,

then our food arrived, Thai food for Steve and Kai, tuna sandwich and chips for myself,

whilst there I spotted this thing,

a bit difficult to see an the side of the wooden menu,

a lizard,

it has the same camouflage as the ones we see in the fishing park,

to see that splendid fellow David Grey, we all caught up with times old and new, if you have never meet David he is such a nice chap, and some one I can recommend personally (not a thing many would do in Pattaya), if you are looking to buy, sell or rent property in Pattaya, David and Steve above,

then to the Sanctuary of Truth, located at Rachvate Cape, Tumbon Naklea, Amphur Banglamung, Chon Buri Province,

we first looked at some of the constitution being done, but then a picture of Steve and Kai with the building in the background,

the temple is a wooden master piece, but now you see a problem, at the right hand side some dust has entered the camera, a small semi circle has appeared in every shot,

some of the wood ready to be made into sculptures,

or temple columns, work already started on this column,

this is the view as you arrive in the car park,

and at the very top a wooden horse and I guess a lady riding it,

we then made our way through the workshop,

this is one of the 2 dimensional patterns that are then transformed into a 3 dimensional sculptures,

a craftsman hard at work,

give me 10,000 logs and the same number of years,

and I would end up with a pile of wood chips, the people here are so skilled,

there is of course restoration to the building going on all of the time,

salt water spray and wood are not happy companions,

some column bases in the making,

at the end of the workshop there is a scale model of the temple,

and here is Kai to give it some scale,

as part of the tour a show is put on with a couple performing a village dance,

then a single dancer,

ancient and modern side by side,

I am sure the headdress has some meaning in Thai culture,

but I am not sure what,

the good news is that the dust in the lenses of the camera can not be seen in these shots,

a part of Thai dancing is portraid in the movements of the hands,

again a part of the culture that eludes me,

next a picture shoot, but some one decided to stand up, as I pressed the shutter, I have made this into two post as there are a lot of pictures and my computer does not do well on big numbers of them, if you want to see more of our visit just scroll down or hit 'older posts'.
