I Just Had To Put This In,

I often ridicule Health & Safety,

which it appears is justly deserved as they can not even keep their own house in order, I have to ask what chance does any one else have of not breaking their laws?, think on this,

an internal audit by the Government's health and safety watchdog found it fell short on 7 out of 11 of its own targets for workplace safety, more than 50%! missed goals included targets on regular assessment of staff use of computer monitors, taking action on risk reports within a month and providing 'defensive driver training' to staff going on long-haul road trips,

in total, 243 accidents or injuries were recorded in the HSE's offices in the past year, an increase of 16 per cent on 2009-10, according to figures seen by the Daily Telegraph, of those, nine were serious enough to be reported to the HSE's national database of industrial accidents and diseases, seventy-two HSE staff were injured while doing their jobs, 13 of those in trips or slips and five in road accidents, another 29 suffered illnesses from using computer monitors, including back and neck injuries, and 22 took time off with work-related stress,

nine members of staff fell victim to accidents leaving them unable to work for more than three days, and the average annual sick leave rose to 6.8 days, in total 24,000 hours were lost to ill health,

Sally Thompson of the Adam Smith Institute, a free market think tank, told the paper: 'We need a good dose of common sense in this area - if HSE can't comply with the rules then entrepreneurs and small businesses have no chance',

a HSE spokesman defended the agency's health and safety performance, well HSE spokesperson I would look again at those figures, you missed 7 out of 11 of your own targets, your accident rate went up by a staggering increase of 16 per cent on 2009-10 and you are proud of those figures!!!!
