During The Morning And Early Afternoon,

the rain just crashed down,

it was so dark at 2.00 in the afternoon it almost looked like night time, in this post I am making the pictures one size larger, so if it looks fine I will use this size in the future,

then the rain stopped, so we were out for our Sunday lunch, we had a late start as we were going to try Cherry's set Sunday meal, but first on our way out Mr. Tony spotted a lizard on the pine tree,

normally theses are pretty well camouflaged,

but this one stuck out like a sore thumb,

I am guessing it normally lives on the concrete wall hence its lighter color,

and this is where we are off to, Cherry's,

it is on Third Road, just opposite what was once the X-Cite Disco,

we chose the set 325 baht menu, starting with a amuse-bouche,

there were of course various breads and sticks, all cooked on the premises,

behind our table there was a floral decoration,

the plant or flower was a Heliconia, but I am not sure which specie,

then to our starter, chicken pate with roast duck served with mango,

with a splash of pepper, the staff have not yet put on their evening clothes, we had booked the table for 3.00 in the afternoon but it was still a bit early, the staff said that people do not normally start to arrive till after 5.00, which was great with us as we had the restaurant to ourselves,

 'Cheers!', from me,

 next course, soup,

and very nice it was too,

again with a splash of pepper,
we had all day for our meal so we asked for a long break between courses,

included in the price was a sorbet before the main course,

 our main courses arrived,

we all went with the steak, but there was also the choice of pork, chicken or fish as a main course,

 with another touch of pepper,

by now we were all full, but then the dessert arrived,

 it looked lovely,

 and tasted even better,

the dessert like the rest of the meal was delicious,

the marbling of the sauce a work of art in itself, we rounded off the meal with a coffee or two, by now the restaurant was gearing up for the evenings customers to arrive, a few already had, we were unanimous that the Sunday set meal was one of the best bargains in town, the only thing is that it is better to call in late afternoon, although the restaurant opens at 2.00 in the afternoon a start time of say 4.00 for your lunch means that everything in the restaurant will be ready for you, by the time we had finished the restaurant was in full swing with many of the tables taken, so if you want a late Sunday lunch this is the place to be, we will be back!

as we made our way home it was already dark, so feet up to watch some DVDs,

we then had a nice surprise, Mike and Riza called round, the girls chatted whilst the boys watched a comedy show,

before lunch and we watch a couple of films, first The Day the Earth Stood Still, the original was much better than the remake, but still watchable for the special effects,

X-Men 2 was another all action special effects movie, great use of iron in the blood by Eric,

all of the boys watched Al Murry The Pub Landlord, you will either love his humor or hate him, as a guide anything 'un-British' is held up for ridicule, we all laughed out loud so many times, after he had finished we said our goodbyes to Mike and Riza,

and watched our final film of the evening Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, great fun all round, especially the little lady with the hand bag, even better the monkey plane builders, we said goodnight to Mr. Tony then for us we were off to bed.

New pic format works for me.

Agree with you that Cherry's must be the best value in town.

Dear Daryle, I am sorry to say that we have reverted to the old sized pictures, I thought it might be just me that could not see all of the picture and the captions at the same time but a few of my friends have the same problem. Going to Cherry’s is a must do for good value for money, as we have said many times before, show us a better place at the price and we will try it! best regards, Stan and Diana.
