Do Not Mess With Fish 184,

and you thought fish were fun!

the new owner of this fish does, as a publicity stunt this blue fin tuna is, at a price of $1.76 million (₤124,246), this fish is over priced, but the lucky buyer has had so much publicity it was worth it, last year the winning bidder, Kiyoshi Kimura, president of Kiyomura Co., which operates the Sushi-Zanmai restaurant chain, set the old record of $639,854 (₤398,154) 56.4 million yen at the New Year's auction, which tends to attract high bids as a celebratory way to kick off the new year — or get some publicity, the high prices don't necessarily reflect exceptionally high fish quality,

in the year's first auction at Tokyo's sprawling Tsukiji fish market, the 222-kilogramme (489-pound) tuna caught off northeastern Japan sold for 155.4 million yen, said Ryoji Yagi, a market official, in case you are wondering that works out at $3,603 (₤2,242) per pound, what a catch!
