I Was So Pleased At How The Truck Looked,

after we cleaned it,

we just had to take some pictures of it,

not as good as new of course,

but it is 10 years old or so,

next on to the trusty Kawasaki and off to the market,

the fish looked nice,

but not for today,

these ones,

we spent 100 baht on the large size to go straight onto the bar-b-q,

and slightly more on some smaller ones to go in the prawn bom-boms,

the last pineapple we bought here was so nice we finished it at one sitting, so we just had to buy some more,

soon it was my turn to show you how not to make a bar-b-q,

meanwhile in the kitchen Diana was preparing our evening meal,

and this was our feast for the evening,

the fire just starting to take hold,

next lots of smoke to upset the neighbours,

and we were in business,

first on potatoes along with onion and prawn bom-boms,

Diana took over on the cooking front,

I just gave advice as I drank my medicinal red wine,

unfortunately Diana listen to me,

which resulted in a burnt hot dog,

luckily the inside was fine,

next on the large prawns,

the prawns were done in no time,

we were then treated to an impromptu firework display as a local hotel put on a show,

back to the prawns,

sausages on next,

then as they were cooking the prawn bom-boms,

Diana had peeled the small ones that we had bought, then put them in foil with butter, garlic, black pepper and slices of red pepper then sprinkled them all with grated lemon, they were delicious,

then our main course sausages, baked potato covered with onion cooked in garlic butter, what a delicious meal!

then indoors for the evenings film, Winter in Wartime, a film with Dutch dialogue but with English subtitles, not what one could call action movie, however it was well thought out with one or two surprises thrown in, near the end of World War II, 14-year-old Michiel becomes involved with the Resistance after coming to the aid of a wounded British flier, with the conflict coming to an end, Michiel comes of age and learns of the stark difference between adventure fantasy and the ugly realities of war as his family face up to events of Michiel's doings,

if you like documentaries about Titanic, BluRay format and 3D images this is the one for you, Titanic: 100 Years in 3D, admitidly short at just 45 minutes but we both enjoyed the 3D effect looking over the ill fated ship,

to round the evening off another couple from the home front in Dad's Army, series 3, then for us as we were still full from our evening meal and it was late we were off to bed.
