At First I Thought I Was Looking At A Porcelain Head,

but it was actually thousands of pieces of paper slightly glued together,

the work of Beijing artist Li Hongbo is amazing to say the least, layers of soft white paper, carved into busts, skulls, and human forms are carved by the book editor and designer, the artist became fascinated by traditional Chinese toys and festive decorations known as paper gourds made from glued layers of thin paper which can be stored flat but then opened to reveal a flower or other shape,

he applied the same honeycomb-like paper structure to much larger human forms resulting in these highly flexible sculptures, for a look at how they look when moved have a glance at the video, http://vimeo.com/55336193 it really is amazing how many sheets of paper are used in each sculpture.
