Medicinal Red Wine Supplies,

were reaching critically low levels,

so a trip to Makro was on today's menu, also we wanted to buy some fresh oranges, for some reason local stores like Tesco Lotus did not have any in stock, we have taken to eating an apple or orange every day in the afternoons,

a sight for sore eyes as they say, stocks now replenished,

next in the afternoon a trip to the market,

we were going to buy a few things for our evening meal, just do not go too near the the power pole,

and these were what we were after,

a few prawns for tonights bar-b-q,

whilst Diana was picking out the best ones I had a wander around to one of the other stalls,

that were selling blue crabs, nice though they are it always seems like there is a lot of work with small ones like these for the amount of crab meat at the end of the exercise,

unlike the stall that Diana was buying from this one had freshwater shrimps as well,

but as we had bought a kilo for 220 baht we decided that we had enough for tonight, plus we will have plenty to deep freeze for the next time we decide to have some prawns,

 some cabbage for the coleslaw,

along with some fresh pineapple for dessert and we were done,

 bar-b-q ready to go,

 and we were off,

copious amounts of smoke filling the air,

have you ever noticed if some one lights a cigarette near you the smoke always goes straight to your eyes?

I have exactly the same effect with the bar-b-q, sitting near or further away whilst trying to light it, the smoke got me all of the time,

so I decided to go over and say hello to Jake and give my now streaming eyes time to clear, as an aside Jake is getting to be a big dog now, all muscle and teeth,

then the fire caught in a total configuration, all of the wood seemed to go up in one go,

 our meal for this evening,

we were going to start with garlic bread followed by prawn kebabs,

Diana now took charge of the proceedings,

the tricky bit I am guessing is not to overcook the prawns,

 and they were just right,

a few more pieces of garlic bread and the another four kebabs were on next,

after a break marinated chicken fillets,

with a baked potato, onion and garlic bom-boms and home made coleslaw, we rounded off the meal with some fresh pineapple,

we enjoyed the BluRay Der Ursprung des Lebens - Eine Zeitreise zu den Anfängen der Evolution so much that we watched the making of it as it was an extra on the disk, so entertaining, that it in itself was worth the price of the disk, it was packed with information, I had no idea that so many trilobites came from Morocco, according to this web page today more than 50,000 Moroccans earn their livelihoods in the fossil and mineral specimen mining and export business,

in 2000, The New York Times Magazine reported that the fossil trade alone was worth $40 million annually in Morocco, although—as in most similar industries—middlemen and retailers see much more profit than diggers and preppers, American geologist Douglas Shakel has aptly described Morocco’s booming specimen-mining industry as the 'trilobite economy', as I mentioned before I had no idea about the size of the industry, also in the filming of the extras the presenter Sir David Attenborough shows he can haggle with the best of us as he tries successfully to halve the price of a group of fossil trilobites, absolutely fascinating,

we rounded the evening off with the 3D edition of John Carter, good special effects as one reviewer wrote, 'it has the spirit and energy of Flash Gordon, the story is quite a novel mix of Planet of the Apes, Conan, Red Sonja, Avatar, Star Wars and Superman (yep this is a superhero movie too) and even a western thrown in the mix at the beginning',

although the film is 3D and has great depth, nothing really comes out of the screen to make you dive out of the way as a blade or piece of rock comes towards you, but all said a great way to round off the evening, with that we were off to bed.
