Just When You Think You Have Seen It All,

nature sends another curved ball,

in this case lots of them in the form of huge ice balls, washed up on the shoreline of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, Michigan, whilst walking her dog Leda Olmsted came across the boulders, she said the ice rocks were scattered along a 100-foot stretch of beach and estimated some weighed as much as 75 pounds,

Sleeping Bear Dunes park rangers said the boulders likely started as hunks of ice that broke away from the floes that form over Lake Michigan, waves and wind churn the hunks into smooth balls, which can eventually wash ashore, park officials said,
also in the United States another take on rounded objects has caused a headache for home owner Josh Pitman as hundreds of tumble weed balls pile up against the side of his house, after wind storms in Midland, Texas, He revealed the problem could have been averted, where it not for the fact that he had pulled down a fence, which would have blocked the unwelcome visitors, Mr Pitman said: 'You live here, the risks you take I guess, We're definitely in West Texas, where the wind blows'

but his problems did not end there, he is now expecting to spend the entire week clearing away the debris, which had piled up to the roof on one side of his house, the reason being that after contacting the local fire service they declined to help arguing that because it was on his land it is classed as yard waste, so I guess the fence goes back as soon as his garden is cleared, I wonder what nature will throw at us next week?
