We Were Up Early,

and going fishing,

today Nick and Maureen and ourselves were joined by Steve,

getting tackled up for the off,

beers on the way as keep out of the sun,

then I was into the first fish of the day,

after a huge fight,

the monster emerged from the deep,

 and it was big,

the trouble is that this type of fish is so full of fines bones that it does not make a nice meal, so back he went,

 beers arrived,

so it is now down to the serious fishing!

I naturally had to have a play around with the camera in panorama mode, this picture with my back to the lake,

and this one facing the lake,

 in normal wide angle,

 it takes three pictures,

to complete the same view, but notice the nice blue sky, for a change very little cloud today,

one of the local plants was in flower,

I am not quiet sure what it is called, I think it is a type of Heliconia in any event it certainly looked nice,

then the second fish to me, it was one that we wanted to eat, but just a tad too small, so back he went,

by now it was getting on, Diana as she had not had any breakfast ordered some egg fried rice,

it was so quiet that a damselfly settled on my float,

watching out for other insects to eat,

then I was in to number three and at exactly the same time Nick caught his first,

 Nick landed his,

 as I landed mine,

and it was just the right size for eating,

in no time at all it was on the table cooked with garlic,

at the fishing park the road that runs past it has been surfaced,

complete with drains, so it is now time to clean the place up,

the new road looking good, also notice how the workers shield all of themselves from the sun,

the owners of the park also had a new walkway made to the main building,

Nick caught another as did I making the score 5-2 to me at the close of play,

the parks blue eyed cat called round, I guess it could smell the fried fish,

but as we had eaten it all it decided to have a scratch instead,

the Kingfisher also put in an appearance,

we had not seen it all day, but then a backhoe had been trundling along the road all day long, the place we fish at is called the Mamak Fishing Park, it is off of Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), turn into the Soi from Sumkivitt, over the railway crossing and continue for a couple of miles, the road starts to go downhill, the road the fishing park is in is almost at the bottom of the hill on the right, there is a sign post there, follow that for a while and the fishing park is on the left,

 the parks card,

and map,

we then made a move to Nick and Maureen's,

whilst relaxing with a beer Nick noticed a small head sticking out from the pump house,

it was one of the resident lizards,

 and nice he looked too,

until he decided to go back inside, there is a male and a female along with a few youngsters that live in the pump house,

a little later in the evening after dark he popped out again, notice how the colour of the eye has changed,

Nick and Maureen looked after us so well, firstly spring rolls, then Nick cooked a Penang chicken and mushroom curry with rice, followed by cheese and biscuits and a ice cream for Diana,

then the serious part of the evening Monopoly, Diana was first out which was a surprise, followed by Nick and Maureen, I held on for as long as I could but Steve was the victor, we all had such a great day and evening, thanking Nick and Maureen for looking after us so well we made a move for home dropping Steve off on the way, then feet up a couple from Cheers and we were off to bed.
