We Were Up Early,

and off to go fishing,

 with Nick and Maureen,

 it was a beautiful day,

 blue skies,

with lots of white fluffy clouds,

 Diana as happy as ever,

Nick had baked a Welsh overnight apple cake for this week, which we all tucked into with for me a coffee,

then the first fish of the day,

just what we wanted for breakfast,

and a nice size it was too, so off to the kitchen he went,

the last time we were here there was not a dragonfly to be seen,

today they seemed to be everywhere,

with one bent stem of a reed being the most popular place to land,

behind us a bush had just started to fruit,

I am not sure what they are, but I am guessing the red ones are ripe,

 these Plumeria's were in flower,

the petals look almost like they are made of wax,

there was not much happening on the fishing side of things so I played with the camera for this panorama of the lake,

 breakfast is served,

the good news was that it was a nice sized one,

which immediately brought out one of the resident cats,

and its kitten looking for a few pieces of fish,

the kitten was very wary of what was happening,

 and decided after eating,

it was safer to stay on the other side of the road to see what was going on,

then Nick equalled the score 1-1,

Diana wanted a few fish for the freezer so we kept it,

day over the keepers were weighed, Nick and myself cast the 'forlorn hope', as we call the last cast of the day,

 and I hooked a fish,

 a big one,

it was all I could do to hold the net up,

it was the biggest fish we had caught here,

so a quick picture and back he went, the score finally finished at 6-1 to me and big though the last one was it still only counted as one!

if you want to fish here it is the Mamak fishing park, their card/map above, it is off of Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), turn into the Soi from Sumkivitt, over the railway crossing and continue for a couple of miles, the road starts to go downhill, near the bottom of it you will see the road the fishing park is on the right hand side, follow that for a while, it twists and turns a bit and the fishing park is on the left next to a soccer ground, there are rods and tackle for hire and bait to buy, plus a fridge full of beer!

 next stop Nick and Maureen's,

 a type of dove,

 settled on the roof,

 next a squirrel called by,

Diana stalked it taking a few pictures, Nick was saying that they are coloured from jet black like this one to almost pure white,

 and then he was gone,

for this evenings meal Nick had cooked a Madras curry,

 'Cheers!',

we followed that with the important part of the evening, Monopoly, well the picture says it all, we thanked Nick and Maureen for their hospitality and made a move for home, one episode of Inspector Morse and we were off to bed.
