Mr. Tony Was In Hospital,

so we popped over to see him,

when we left the weather seemed to be fine, then rain clouds appeared followed by thunder and lightning, just a few minuets from the hospital the heavens opened up,

we took shelter under an awning in front of a Family Mart with a few other motorcyclists,

eventually the downpour finished so we put on our plastic macs and continued, but first let me say that all is well with Mr. Tony he is now home and well,

he was in the Bangkok Pattaya hospital,

and was up and about joking with his heart monitor pretending it was a hugely expensive telephone,

 the room was huge,

and normally had a good view but as it was still raining there was not much to see,

except the flooding on the Sumkivitt Road,

but as the rain stopped the view improved,

Mr. Tony said being high up on the 7th floor it was quite a show with the lightning,

as the rain stopped the floodwater's swiftly disappeared,

we took a pose at the rooms edge, but whilst it felt OK being this high I kept well away from the window that did not have a balcony next to it,

we said our goodbyes to Mr, Tony and then made a move to the plant market almost opposite the Bangkok Pattaya hospital, the market is there on Friday, Saturday and Sunday,

as you might expect the market was a bit wet underfoot,

one of the first stalls we came to was an aquatic one,

 lots of fish on display,

then perhaps one of the most unusual stalls,

selling carnivorous plants, like these monkey cups, (Nepenthes sps.),

each specie having it's own distinctive cup,

there were also some cobra lily plants for sale,

along with small Venus fly traps,

the same stall had miniature birds and animals for decoration,

the amaryllis looked nice but it was the flower beside it that took my interest,

I have no idea what it was but it looked so nice,

waterlilies, if only we had a pool,

Diana was making a video to put on her twitter page I think it is,

I then noticed another plant this time in a hanging basket with an unusual flower,

again I do not know what it is, but it certainly looked different,

we made our way past many more stalls,

by now most of the water had drained away,

this was perhaps the most colourful stall,

even though there was not much light as the skies were still overcast,

the stall amongst other things was selling these small hanging pots with a plant in each one,

next the cut flower orchid stall,

 the flowers looking so nice,

on another stall lucky bamboo, but it is not bamboo at all, but a species called Dracaena sanderiana,

the plant can be shaped to almost whatever you can imagine and it is easy to grow too,

we made our way back to the bike passing some of the stalls that sell fruit tress, I keep saying it, if only we had a bigger garden!

no soon had we arrived home than after a cup of coffee and a shower we were out again, this time to the weekend night market on Thepprasit road,

still a bit of cloud looking towards Jomtien,

 but blue skies looking inland,

this was the stall I was looking for,

we wanted to buy one of these as a room light in the living room 200 baht later and I was on my way,

past the pretty in pink stall,

to the stalls behind the bar,

a look at the fruit stall to see what is in season,

the answer these small tangerines, which I am told come from China,

the food aisles busy with a truck still unloading,

and a crowd in the next aisle,

a few people in the pet section,

I had a quick look in the aquatic store,

which had a display of Oranda goldfish,

 sunset over the market,

we meet up with Brian for a beer,

after chatting the evening away we said our goodbyes and made a move for home,

but before leaving the car park I spotted this,

a mid 1960's Triumph motorbike, very similar to one I once owned, but mine was earlier still with a sprung hub,

one feature this did have in common with mine was this tank mounted baggage holder, which back in the late 1960s in a crash I had on my bike nearly resulted in me losing two fingers, as it was I had broken 7 bones in my hand and had 72 stitches as they were called then put into it,

after our evening meal arriving home it was feet up and watch a movie, The Return of the Living Dead, a comedy/horror, next one episode of A Touch of Frost and we were off to bed.
