In Snohomish County,

in the U.S. state of Washington,

this was the sight that greeted power workers last week, a photo posted by the Snohomish County Public Utility District did the rounds on social media, garnering dozens of shares and comments, and for good reason, it showed a wooden power pole barely hanging on by a thread, after having been pecked by a hard-working woodpecker, I guess not many people live nearby, or at least do not look up to let the pole get that well pecked, the Snohomish County Public Utility District spokesperson commented, "We are so lucky our customer called in when they did! We replaced the pole that same day," the Snohomish County Public Utility District wrote on their Facebook page, officials weren’t sure how long the pecking was going on, or why the busy woodpecker was so focused on that section of the pole, they added that they had dealt with woodpecker damage before, but never anything quite like this.
